I am supremely lazy and am risk averse and lo behold an investment strategy made for people like me. Lazy portfolios.
Here’s what I learnt in school. Passive Investing – An investment strategy involving limited ongoing buying and selling actions. Passive investors will purchase investments with the intention of long-term appreciation and limited maintenance.
Took classes in Investment and Financial Engineering and discovered that the constant need to track the various things that need to be tracked and the constant obsession with timing your activity and beating the market was not for me. For what it’s worth, I felt it was corrosive and I feel that way today too.
Not meant as a knock on our dear DB2 DBA, who seems to thrive on excitement and thrill of playing the stock market, but I ain’t as rich as him to stand the shock of losing sums of money and laugh in the face of one’s losses.
So what’s a lazy portfolio? Will blog about it (totally extraneous information given what’s on the net, but hey a promise is a promise and I promised the DBA that I would post something) in the weeks to come.
Here’s a song from my younger innocent days. Sounded fresh that day and sounds fresh today too.
